ストーリー
What sparked the idea for the Hitotsume brand?
One day when the CEO of Meishu no Yutaka, Rie Kumada, visited the rice fields of Takayuki Arai, a rice farmer in Shin-Totsukawa, she suddenly said, "Wouldn't you like to one day drink a Sake made ONLY with rice from this very field of yours?!". Of course he answered "YES", and the project was set in motion.
The concept behind Hitotsume
The main idea behind this project was to make a Sake, where the people behind its production and distribution are known by face and name. One field, one farm, one brewery, one distributor/retailer. Since this concept for a Sake was brewed for the first time, it got the name Hitotsume (meaning "the first"). For the second year it was planned to get a different title, but the "Hitotsume" label had already gained so much popularity and the name was already so strongly associated with it, that it was kept.
